Taking on board the space and time parameters of the exhibition, the new machine entitled
Etat des lieux, has been conceived to extend the memory of the past exhibitions to archive
the traces left on the walls by earlier hangings. Working as a pantograph, it locates the holes in
one wall and then transfers them in enlarged form onto the facing wall.
